The funeral will be held at Westminster Abbey on September 19 at 11:00 BST.

To enable people to see the funeral on television, the bailiff of Jersey has requested that stores and other legally permitted facilities remain open during the service.

Islanders, according to Mr. Le Cocq, are encouraged to come together and pay tribute to the late Sovereign across Jersey.

It is very appropriate that the States Assembly has authorised a bank holiday so that we may pay our respects to our late sovereign, he remarked, given the unusual occasion of Her Late Majesty's state funeral.

"I ask organisations that may remain open to function with respect for the occasion." "I am cognizant that there will invariably be an impact on commerce in the island with such short notice."

Together with Richard Cripwell, the Lieutenant Governor General of Guernsey, Sir Timothy Le Cocq will attend the funeral in his capacity as acting Lieutenant Governor.

The Royal Court, the office of the lieutenant governor, as well as all parish and public halls, will all still have books of condolence available through Friday, September 16.

The nation will observe a moment of silence on September 18 at 00:00 BST to "mourn and reflect" on Queen Elizabeth II's life and legacy.
