Who got better deal trading champs: UFC or ONE Championship?

The UFC and ONE Championship trading their previous champions, Demetrious Johnson and Ben Askren, is a moment in the history of the sport that will be talked about for many years, for a variety of reasons. Trades aren't precisely common in MMA as they are in other professional sports.

Johnson recently added another gleaming belt to his collection when, at ONE on Prime Video 1 in Singapore, he defeated Adriano Moraes with a stunning knee to exact revenge for his knockout loss. Ben Askren is a retired boxer who is living at home on the other side of the "trade."

Three fights made up Askren's entire UFC career. He defeated Robbie Lawler in his UFC 235 debut, suffered two stoppage defeats to Jorge Masvidal and Demian Maia, and then left the sport to take up boxing.

Johnson, on the other hand, has a 4-1 record under the ONE Championship brand, winning both the grand prix championship and the championship of the division. Not to mention triumphing in a match with modified rules in which MMA and muay Thai rounds were alternated.

Johnson reclaimed No. 1 in the most recent USA TODAY Sports/MMA Junkie flyweight rankings because he continues to appear to be the finest flyweight on the planet.

With presenter "Gorgeous" George Garcia, our "Spinning Back Clique" panel of Brian "Goze" Garcia, Mike Bohn, and Nolan King examine the transaction. You can watch their exchange in the video up top or see this week's whole show down below.
